Viagra, Cialis, Levitra Drugs May Promote Sexual Pleasure

According to a recent study published at the Journal of Physiology, Sildenafil(Viagra), vardenafil(Levitra) and Tadalafil(Cialis) erectile dysfunction drugs may enhance sexual pleasure in addition to their well-known effect on sexual performance.

Viagra(sildenafil), Levitra(vardenafil), and Cialis(tadalafil) treat erectile function by enhancing blood flow to the penis. They are classified as sexual stimulants, not aphrodisiacs, in that they improve sexual function but are not known to affect arousal.

However, the researchers indicated that these erectile dysfunction drugs play a key role (indirectly) in regulating release of oxytocin. This may be a key in understanding additional effects that these drugs may have on patient users.

Although the study was made on rats, results seem to show that sildenafil (Viagra) and its analogues seem to stimulate the release of oxytocin. This hormone is released by the neurohypophysis, or posterior pituitary, during orgasm.

Erectile dysfunction (ED or impotence) is a dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis. Many underlying causes can be named for ED and many of those causes are medically treatable.

Many "treatments," both medically approved and non-approved, have been suggested for ED. Since the 1930's many folks have taken advantage of a highly devastating psychological sexual condition to push consumer to buy or try different treatments. Options on this are countless. However, the effectiveness of such so-called treatments for ED has not been proved.

Controversial and unapproved treatments include naltrexone, bremelatonine, melanotan II, hMaxiK, Gingseng, Ezyte, herbal treatment, and Prelox.

Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases are a group of chemical compounds that effectively have an effect on ED. One of the forms of phophodiesterase is termed PDE5. The prescription PDE5 inhibitors sildenafil (Viagra), vardenafil (Levitra) and tadalafil (Cialis) are prescription drugs that are taken orally. They work by blocking the action of PDE5, allowing the penis to fill with blood.

The introduction of the first pharmacologically approved drug for ED, sildenafil (trade name Viagra), in the 1990s caused a wave of public attention, helped in part by heavy advertising.

The investigators wrote "Oxytocin also serves as a signal in central neuronal pathways associated with the erectile response".... "If PDE5 inhibitors influence central oxytocin nerve terminals in the same way as peripheral nerve terminals of the posterior pituitary, then the activity of these central oxytocin pathways would be enhanced."

The study suggests that Viagra(sildenafil), Levitra(vardenafil), and Cialis(tadafil) may have other effects (in addition to improve sexual performance), but the experiments were conducted only in animal systems. Further research is needed.

Pill will: Huge fine for sailor

A FOREIGN sailor had a heavy-duty plan to smuggle nearly one million yuan (US$132,000) worth of pills used to treat impotence out of the Port of Shanghai.

While the bid was daring, it was doomed from the start and will prove extremely costly for him, or his employer.

The sailor will be fined 26,000 yuan, Shanghai Customs announced yesterday.

Local authorities would not reveal name of the sailor, nor his country of origin.

The sailor was caught by immigration police at local Wusong Port in early April when trying to board his working vessel, Cui Jian, an officer with Wusong Entry-Exit Frontier Inspection Station said yesterday.

He was stopped by an immigration police officer, who found that he was hiding about 33,000 pills inside his vest and in a bag he carried with him.

Police found many drug-illustration brochures along with the pill packages. The tablets weighed about 25 kilograms, making discretion difficult - and immediately arousing the customs officer's suspicion.

It was the largest drug-smuggling case in Shanghai in recent years, according to immigration police.

Police said the pills were Cialis, a well-known impotency medication.

The sailor confessed to police during questioning that he was promised 7,000 yuan by a friend in his home country for taking the pills to a foreign port.

Police did not release information on where the man obtained the pills.

When announcing the fine yesterday, Customs officers also said they had confiscated the tablets.

The sailor's ship visits Shanghai every week, according to immigration police.

If his services had been terminated on the vessel, the penalty will probably be paid by the ship's management, the immigration police said.

Erectile Dysfunction Medications: FAQs

Here are some Questions as well their answers which can comes in ones Mind.....

How do I know I have erectile dysfunction, and when should I see a doctor?
If you repeatedly have trouble getting an erection or staying erect for sexual activity, you may have erectile dysfunction (ED), Erectile Dysfunction which is also known Male Impotence is usually caused by health problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. ED can be a side effect of medications such as antidepressants, blood pressure medications, antihistamines, tranquilizers and appetite suppressants. ED can also be caused by emotional issues such as depression, stress and anxiety.

Take heart. You aren't alone. Perhaps as many as 30 million American men may have the condition. With more publicity about the condition, more men are asking their doctors about this problem. Much of this increased interest can be attributed to the development and marketing of three prescription medications: Viagra (sildenafil), Levitra (vardenafil HCl) and Cialis (tadalafil).

A satisfying sexual life is an important part of who you are and your relationship with your partner. If you are having trouble in the bedroom and you are distressed because of it, talk to your doctor. You are not the first person to ask your doctor about ED, and most men with ED are successfully treated.

How well do these drugs work?
Very well. These drugs increase the satisfaction with the hardness of erections and maintain the erection throughout intercourse. Once intercourse is over, the erection goes away. Keep in mind that the cause of your ED does play a role in how effective these medications are. For instance, chronic health conditions such as poorly controlled diabetes may interfere with how well these medications work.

Can you be too old or too young to take these?
No. Age is not a factor in whether or not men can take this or if the medications will work. Erectile Dysfunction, by the way, can strike men at any age.

Erectile dysfunction influenced by race and ethnicity

According to a new study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, erectile dysfunction is highly prevalent across white, black and Hispanic populations in the United States. For the first time in an adequately-sized, nationally representative probability sample, the effect of health and lifestyle variables on the odds of having Erectile Dysfunction were determined in order to estimate prevalence by race and ethnicity.

White men age 70 years and older, as well as those suffering from diabetes, were shown to be at greater risk for developing Erectile Dysfunction. Severe lower urinary tract symptoms were shown to be ED related in black men. Hispanic men over the age of 60, as well as those suffering from moderate lower urinary tract symptoms, hypertension and/or depression were increasingly likely to suffer from Erectile Dysfunction. Odds decreased in black men who exercised or had good partner relationships, and in Hispanic men with a high school or higher education.

"Consistent with numerous other studies, age has again been shown to be a very important risk factor for ED," says Ed Laumann, lead author of the study. "We have also learned from this study that different lifestyle and health conditions appear to play significantly different roles in different racial/ethnic groups. Further research is needed to clarify the mechanisms that account for these differences."

"The specific risk factors for sexual dysfunction in minority men have not been previously explored," according to Ray Rosen, co-author of the study. "This study shows the importance of psychosocial influences in Erectile Dysfunction, particularly the effects of depression and a poor partner relationship in minority men. Given the prevalence of physical risk factors (diabetes, hypertension) also in minority men, these results should alert clinicians to the particular relevance of se xual function in minority men to overall health and well-being."

"This is important new research in sexual medicine," observed Irwin Goldstein, Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of se xual Medicine. "The United States is made up of numerous racial and ethnic populations. Previous epidemiologic studies have examined the prevalence of erectile dysfunction in populations largely of Caucasian men. Translation of the se xual medicine findings of one population group to another can only really be done by directly studying the specific ethnic or racial group."

Impotence and anti impotency drugs

The kids, The job, The house, The cell phone, blackberry and email. With all the responsibilities many men juggle, there is often no time for romance, and in many cases, even less desire. Around 80% of adult men between the age of 40 to 70 experience at least one symptom of sexual dysfunction, and few feel they can talk about it.

Erectile dysfunction, also called
impotence, can affect men of all ages but is seen more in males older than 50. Erectile dysfunction is basically the inability to obtain or sustain a sufficient erection into penis during sexual activity. An erection occurs with sexual arousal through sight, smell, thoughts and sound. Due to which the brain increase the blood flow into penis and this flow allow the maximum erection.

The main reason behind erectile dysfunction problem is lack of blood flow into penis. The excessive use of alcohol, smoking and some other drugs, decreased the blood flow and erection into sexual drive.

The anti impotency drugs such as Viagra, cialis and Levitra are used to fight with impotence problem. These all drugs produced the PDE-5 enzyme which is responsible to increase blood flow into penis. This enzyme relaxes the walls of the blood vessels to increase blood flow.
